Editing Fellows are trained in the technical side of the editing process, but their attention is always focused on storytelling. Guided by a faculty of working professionals, Fellows work in rotating teams with the other disciplines, cutting six cycle films and working as an assistant editor on an additional six projects. By the end of the two years, Editing Fellows complete the program with a new demo reel to share with the industry.
Fellows edit 8 films in 2 years

“AFI let me learn from the best in the field and put me alongside gifted peers with an incredible work ethic.”
“I think what sets AFI apart is the kind of level of professionalism that you’re required to operate at. When you look at the progression that I made at the beginning of the year and where I am professionally at the end of the first year, the difference is vast.”
